Two Breathing Space artists visited Bilbrook Middle School in the
West Midlands to work with children from years 5 - 8 on a local history
project. Over 250 children worked on devising short drama pieces based
on 'The Black Country'. Additionally, they all worked to create a large
'Black Country Mandala" based on images taken from
local industries. This was hung as a permanent display near the school entrance.
A sense of place is very important and intensive research
unearthing stories is part of our preparation. We currently have material for
work in Barnet and other areas of London and the West Midlands. We are happy to
suggest ideas if you have a specific geographical area you would like us to work
with.
